Thermal Management
Managing heat is critical for maintaining LED performance and longevity. High temperatures can cause LED decay, reducing brightness and shortening their lifespan. Many generic kits rely on passive cooling systems, like heat ribbons, which are less efficient at dissipating heat, leading to heat soaking that degrades LED performance over time.
The V5 LED Headlight Conversion Kit is engineered with an advanced active cooling system that starts with a copper PCB (Printed Circuit Board). Copper is one of the best conductors of heat, efficiently pulling heat away from the LED chips. The heat is then transferred through copper heat pipes, which contain a small amount of liquid to enhance thermal management, moving the heat to the heat sink for even distribution.
This cooling process is further enhanced by a Japanese ball bearing fan, which circulates air over the heat sink to accelerate heat dissipation. What sets the V5 apart is its smart driver technology, which doesn’t just respond to overheating—it proactively manages power to ensure consistent performance. If the fan becomes obstructed by debris, the smart driver temporarily reduces the power to prevent overheating. Even in reduced-power mode, the LEDs still provide functional brightness, ensuring safety and visibility. Once the obstruction is cleared, the system ramps back up to full power smoothly, maintaining the balance between performance and protection, while maximizing the lifespan of the LEDs.
This comprehensive cooling system ensures that the V5 Kit runs cooler and more efficiently than passive-cooled alternatives, maintaining optimal brightness and extending the lifespan of the LEDs
