Two Different Systems, Two Different Needs
We designed different extension cables because our rock light systems have fundamentally different wiring requirements:
ALTIQ™ Rock Light Pro uses 2-pin extensions because it's a straightforward system. With 15 pure white LEDs delivering 10 watts in a 180° flood beam, it only needs two connections: positive power and ground. Simple, reliable, effective.
ALTIQ™ Spectrum Pro RGB+W uses 5-pin extensions because it's a sophisticated system. With 12 pure white LEDs plus 12 RGB LEDs (red, green, blue), it needs individual control over each colour channel. That means separate wires for red, green, blue, white, and ground—five connections total.
Why the Pin Count Matters
The 2-pin Rock Light Pro extension handles basic power delivery through a flexible 2-core cable with weatherproof IP67-rated locking plugs. It's designed for the 0.8 amp draw of the white LED system.
The 5-pin Spectrum Pro extension carries the full RGBW signal through heavy-duty 5-core cable, supporting the 3.3 amp draw and complex colour mixing that makes the Bluetooth-controlled lighting possible.
Both systems use plug-and-play waterproof connectors, so installation stays clean and simple regardless of which system you're running. The key is matching the right extension to your rock light system—because trying to connect a 5-pin system to a 2-pin extension (or vice versa) simply won't work.
Choose the extension that matches your rock lights, and enjoy the freedom to route your lighting exactly where you need it.
